Actuarial Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for an Actuarial Consultant to join its Risk Consulting Pacific team, based in either the Sydney CBD or Melbourne CBD office. The role sits within the Analytics Solutions team and combines technical problem solving with client engagement. It is a hybrid position with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply actuarial modelling skills to support client projects and advisory work
• Deliver client engagements end to end, ensuring quality and timely completion
• Communicate key insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships across a range of industries
• Identify opportunities to improve business outcomes through analytical and advisory support
• Contribute to projects such as actuarial reserving, technical pricing, stochastic loss modelling, risk finance optimisation and limit validation reviews

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in the insurance industry
• Degree in a related field such as Actuarial Studies, Data Science, Statistics or another relevant technical discipline
• Ability to work independently with critical thinking while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Well-developed communication skills, presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
• Actuarial reserving, technical pricing or loss modelling experience is a strong advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to mentor or support junior team members where appropriate
