Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

McCain Foods is looking for an experienced, people-focused Accounts Payable Manager to lead its ANZ Accounts Payable function. The role sits within the Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller ANZ, and covers a geographically diverse function across Australia and New Zealand. It goes beyond a traditional AP leadership role: you will influence working capital outcomes, champion automation and process improvement, partner with senior stakeholders and lead teams both locally and offshore.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop onshore and offshore Accounts Payable teams
• Create a customer-focused AP function that serves suppliers and internal stakeholders well
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and process transformation
• Strengthen governance, controls and compliance across procure-to-pay
• Partner with Procurement, Finance, Shared Services and business leaders
• Support working capital performance and free cash flow objectives
• Act as escalation point for complex payment, supplier, travel and expense matters
• Deliver reporting and insights, support audits and reconciliations, and introduce smarter ways of working

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Accounts Payable, Shared Services or Finance Operations teams
• Passion for coaching and developing people
• Strong stakeholder management and commercial thinking on working capital, cash flow and financial controls
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline; CA, CPA or equivalent highly regarded

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar enterprise platforms
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

The role is based in Melbourne, Victoria, and follows a hybrid model with two days a week remote work possible.
