Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to support our growing business in the West End. Reporting to the Directors and collaborating closely with our external Tax Accountant, you will ensure the integrity of our financial data and deliver timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Process invoices, payments, and expense claims promptly.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card, and general‑ledger accounts.
• Prepare and process payroll, including superannuation and leave entitlements.
• Assist with BAS/IAS preparation and lodgement.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Update the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Produce financial reports such as profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Liaise with the external Accountant and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and problem‑solving ability.
• Experience working with MYOB; familiarity with SimPro is a plus.
• High level of integrity and a proactive, "can‑do" attitude.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
