Accountant – Client‑Facing Role with Growth Opportunities

About the role

Join a well‑established accounting practice with over 30 years of success, supporting small and medium‑sized businesses across diverse industries. You will work directly with clients, providing accounting, tax, and SMSF services while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for a varied portfolio of entities.
• Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS.
• Reconcile Xero files, perform bookkeeping duties and maintain accurate client records.
• Assist with SMSF accounting and taxation matters where applicable.
• Respond to day‑to‑day accounting and tax queries, liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients, and support general practice administration.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in Business Services or Tax Accounting.
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for multiple entity types.
• Strong communication skills and confidence to deal directly with clients.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proactive, can‑do attitude with a genuine focus on client service.

Required skills

• Xero Practice Manager and Xero Ledger.
• SMSF accounting knowledge (experience with BGL is a plus).
