Accountant – Brisbane

About the role

An established Australian organisation based in Brisbane's inner north is looking for an Accountant to join its finance team. The role is hands-on, with ownership of core financial accounting responsibilities alongside contributions to management reporting, financial analysis and business decisions. It sits within a collaborative finance team working closely with the Finance Manager and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reporting and monthly management accounts, journals, accruals and prepayments
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting
• Support consolidation and intercompany elimination processes
• Assist with statutory reporting, taxation requirements and audit processes
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and variance reporting
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and analysis
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Support payroll processes and ensure compliance
• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations

Required profile

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant with a strong commercial background
• CA/CPA qualified or studying towards qualification
• Experience in a commercial environment
• Ability to build effective relationships across the business
