Account Manager – Microbiology (QLD/NT)

About the role

Join Oxoid Remel Microbiology to drive sales of a comprehensive microbiology portfolio across Queensland and the Northern Territory. You will manage existing accounts, develop new business, and support customers with technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets while aligning with margin objectives.
• Develop and maintain strategic territory and account plans, forecasting demand and managing the opportunity pipeline.
• Promote products such as prepared media, dehydrated media, pathogen detection kits, PCR instrumentation and AST solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, seminars and training, and collaborate with Key Account Managers, Customer Care and Technical Support.
• Gather market intelligence, report trends and support product management with inventory planning and go‑to‑market initiatives.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, ensure forecast accuracy and adhere to EHS policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field (essential); postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• 2–5 years of experience in microbiology sales, product support or laboratory‑based microbiology.
• Proven sales success in life‑science or microbiology markets.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel 25–30% of the time.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of microbiology products: prepared and dehydrated media, pathogen detection kits, PCR instrumentation, AST products.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven sales process execution.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
