Account Manager - Cairns

About the role

A well-established business with a strong presence across the construction and infrastructure sectors is looking for an Account Manager based in Cairns. You will manage an established regional customer portfolio, grow market share, strengthen customer relationships and identify new opportunities across the region. The role suits someone who enjoys being out in the market, understands project-led sales and turns strong relationships into commercial results.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of construction, civil and project-based customers
• Build strong relationships across site, procurement and senior stakeholder levels
• Identify and convert new business opportunities
• Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits across the region
• Manage quotes, RFIs, claims, enquiries and follow-ups
• Navigate longer-term sales cycles, tenders and commercial negotiations
• Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline and customer records
• Work closely with internal teams across sales, operations, logistics and safety

Required profile

• Proven B2B sales or account management experience
• Commercially sharp, proactive and confident in managing a broad customer base
• Ability to manage project-led B2B sales, stay organised and build trust with customers
• Direct industry experience is highly regarded but not essential
• Down-to-earth, reliable and team-focused style

Required skills

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Confidence managing quotes, tenders, pricing and negotiations
• Strong CRM, systems and administration capability
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
