Freedom, a home furnishings retailer with a 40-year history, is hiring a Sales Consultant in Cairns. The role sits at the heart of its mission to make beautiful things for the home available to everyone, guiding customers through the product range and building lasting relationships. The position is open immediately and suits someone available for work including weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers in meaningful conversations to understand their needs and style preferences.
• Provide expert advice on the product range, from sofas and dining sets to bedroom furniture and home accessories.
• Identify opportunities to add value through upselling and cross-selling, always with the customer's best interests at heart.
• Build a portfolio of repeat customers and contribute to store-wide goals while pursuing individual targets.

Required profile

• A proven track record or natural aptitude for converting conversations into sales, with a focus on exceeding targets.
• A customer-focused mindset and sharp commercial acumen, able to spot upselling opportunities while keeping relationships authentic.
• Resilience in a performance-based environment and a competitive spirit.
• Natural communication skills, teamwork and the ability to take initiative independently.
• Passion for continuous improvement, seeking feedback and training to improve sales performance.
• Previous sales experience is valued but not required; potential is prioritised.
