Account Director – Digital Natives

About the role

OpenAI’s Go‑to‑Market team is looking for an Account Director to drive AI adoption for digital‑native customers. Based in Sydney, you will work in a hybrid model (three days onsite) and help customers from initial engagement through deployment and renewal, partnering with researchers, engineers and solution strategists.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account plans.
• Support customers from initial engagement to successful deployment and renewal.
• Partner with solutions and research engineering to design and deliver complex customer programs.
• Own revenue targets, manage forecasts and track key account metrics.
• Analyze industry landscape and provide insights to influence product road‑maps and corporate strategy.
• Collaborate across solutions, marketing, communications, operations, finance, product and engineering teams.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding new teammates and fostering company culture.

Required profile

• 7+ years selling and renewing platform‑as‑a‑service or software‑as‑a‑service solutions.
• Proven ability to design and execute complex deal strategies.
• Experience working directly with C‑level executives and communicating technical concepts.
• Track record of supporting growth in fast‑moving, high‑performance companies.
• Strong capability to gather, distill and process market, competitor and customer intelligence.
• Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for artificial intelligence and its societal impact.
• Strategic thinker who can develop long‑term go‑to‑market plans and drive execution.
