A Grade Electrician - MV/LV Switchgear

About the role

Randstad is recruiting A Grade electricians for its client in Benalla, Victoria, which specialises in medium voltage distribution, grid automation and low voltage systems. The Benalla team designs, builds, wires and tests custom kiosks, substations and high-performance switchgear for Australia's energy transition. This is a full-time contractor position.

Key responsibilities

• Perform point-to-point secondary control wiring, busbar installations and power connections for MV/LV switchgear and custom modular substations.
• Carry out functional checks, circuit verification, insulation resistance (Megger) and dielectric/hipot testing in line with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) procedures.
• Interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, panel layout drawings and termination schedules.
• Ensure assemblies comply with AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules, AS/NZS 61439 and internal ISO quality procedures.
• Identify wiring faults, component defects or schematic discrepancies and work with production engineers to resolve them.
• Take part in 5S housekeeping, risk assessments (Take 5s) and lean manufacturing improvement ideas.

Required profile

• Current Victorian A-Grade electrical licence.
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

What we offer

• Casual pay of $51 per hour for day shift (6am-2:15pm) or $58.65 per hour for afternoon shift (2:15pm-10pm).
