Tech Lead – Contract or Permanent

About the role

NCS Australia is looking for a Technical Lead to provide hands‑on leadership within agile delivery teams. You will ensure solutions are designed, built and delivered in line with enterprise architecture standards, engineering best practices and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across Scrum teams.
• Define and maintain design approaches that align with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure solution intent and roadmap alignment.
• Lead technical planning during sprint and Program Increment sessions.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks and implementation challenges.
• Ensure non‑functional requirements such as performance, security, observability and accessibility are met.
• Guide development teams on coding standards, quality expectations and engineering governance.
• Support integration planning, deployment readiness and operational supportability.
• Mentor developers and help uplift capabilities across delivery teams.
• Participate in technical communities, guilds and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise with a track record of delivering secure, scalable and resilient solutions.
• Proven leadership capability in agile environments.
• Ability to mentor, coordinate and influence technical decisions.
• Experience working closely with architects, DevOps engineers and product owners.
• Baseline security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
