Site Reliability Engineer (SRE/DevOps) – Engineering Productivity

About the role

Arista Networks is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join its Engineering Productivity team in Sydney. You will help design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and fault‑tolerant tools and infrastructure for the company’s product development groups.

Key responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and operate critical production systems with focus on scalability, reliability, observability, performance and security.
• Monitor, support and enhance developer experience across services, including automation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and maintain incident response runbooks, triage platform issues, and work with third‑party vendors.
• Write post‑mortem documents and implement solutions to prevent repeat incidents.
• Plan and communicate maintenance windows and collaborate with product teams to resolve infrastructural bottlenecks.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and software troubleshooting skills.
• Hands‑on experience operating software systems at scale and server provisioning.
• Knowledge of Linux/UNIX administration and debugging.

Required skills

• Programming/scripting: Go, Python, shell scripting.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code: Ansible.
• Containers & virtualization: Docker, KVM, QEMU, kata‑containers.
• Orchestration and CI/CD: Kubernetes, Jenkins, Spinnaker, ArgoCD.
• Monitoring & observability: Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana, Thanos.
• Databases: MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Version control and artifact management: Gerrit, Perforce, Artifactory, Docker registry.
• Cloud and storage: Google Cloud, Varnish, NAS/SAN, Ceph.
