Senior PR Advisor

About the role

GT Communications is looking for an experienced Senior Advisor to join its growing, award-winning national team in Sydney. This is a full-time, Sydney-based senior role working across a national portfolio of corporate and consumer clients, covering sectors such as professional services, technology, agriculture, health care, retail, national infrastructure and NDIS providers. The role combines strategic communications, media relations, reputation management, integrated campaigns and commercial account leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior executives and clients on complex communications challenges, corporate positioning and reputation management
• Use strong senior media relationships, especially Tier 1 contacts, while staying hands-on with pitching and storytelling
• Lead integrated communications strategies, campaigns, executive thought leadership and stakeholder engagement
• Provide counsel and communications support during crisis and issues situations
• Integrate digital and social channels into communications strategies
• Coach and prepare senior leaders for media engagement and interviews
• Manage client relationships, mentor teams, oversee budgets, scope, resourcing and profitability, and contribute to new business

Required profile

• Significant senior-level communications experience, preferably at Senior Account Director level in an agency
• Proven ability to develop strategies, set and deliver KPIs and manage accounts
• Strong Tier 1 media relationships, news judgement and a hands-on approach to pitching
• Experience coaching senior executives and delivering media training
• Ability to lead teams, manage budgets and contribute to business growth
• Senior agency experience is highly desirable; previous journalism or newsroom experience is a bonus
