Senior PMO Analyst

About the role

A Senior PMO Analyst is needed to join a key portfolio management function in Sydney. The role governs the whole-of-portfolio change slate, delivers strategic insight to senior leadership and maintains rigorous project controls across change programmes. It is a permanent position advertised by a consultant specialising in transformation and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders and the Portfolio Governance Committee to deliver data-led reporting, track pipeline roadmaps and support project prioritisation.
• Maintain forward-looking capacity planning, manage resource contention and forecast staffing across project teams.
• Track portfolio budgets, headcount, burn rates and actuals to ensure accurate financial reporting and prevent cost overruns.
• Safeguard the change delivery framework across Waterfall and Agile streams, govern gate approvals and manage portfolio-level risks and issues.
• Mentor junior team members, refine PMO methodologies and drive operational efficiencies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience within a PMO or project delivery environment; past project management experience is highly regarded.
• Confident communication skills, with the gravitas to present to senior management and drive governance discipline.
• Financial services, investment or banking experience is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas such as XLOOKUP and nested logic, and pivot tables.
• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and Power BI dashboards.
