Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel at AP+, you will provide clear, commercially focused legal advice on complex and significant matters, helping leaders make informed decisions and manage legal risk. You will own important matters, work closely with cross‑functional teams and contribute to the strength of the Legal function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide authoritative legal advice on material, strategically significant issues and explain commercial implications to senior stakeholders.
• Identify, assess and manage significant legal risks, offering practical mitigation options.
• Lead complex negotiations and cross‑functional legal matters, coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisers.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, delivering clear guidance and constructive challenge.
• Coach less experienced lawyers and improve Legal team processes through playbooks, precedents and data‑driven tools.

Required profile

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification with a current New South Wales practising certificate.
• At least six years post‑qualification experience at a senior legal counsel level.
• Demonstrated ability to advise across multiple areas of law, manage complex matters and balance legal risk with business needs.
• Proven experience leading significant negotiations or cross‑functional projects.
• Strong stakeholder partnership skills, building trusted relationships with senior leaders.
