Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Acora is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in Sydney on a full-time permanent basis, working in a hybrid arrangement. You will shape and deliver high-quality data and AI solutions end to end, acting as a recognised subject matter expert that others rely on for specialist guidance. You will advise in design discussions, solve complex technical problems and mentor and guide others.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects from a technical and customer-facing perspective, ensuring high quality and timely delivery
• Work on projects using agreed best practices and implement data governance and security best practices
• Contribute to design workshops with stakeholders and business leaders, advising on practical technical solutions
• Apply data modelling, ETL and analytics expertise to solve complex problems
• Design, implement and manage solutions on Microsoft Azure, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric or Databricks
• Work within cross-functional teams to anticipate issues and deliver solutions that drive customer value
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and peers, sharing knowledge and setting good practice
• Build understanding of AI agent implementation within Azure

Required profile

• Recognised subject matter expert in data engineering delivery, able to give specialist guidance to colleagues and stakeholders
• Able to make independent decisions on complex technical problems, balancing quality, risk and customer value
• Strong understanding of data governance and security, with the ability to anticipate issues and apply controls
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers and peers
• Full rights to work in Australia
