Senior Data Centre Engineer (12-Month Contract)

About the role

A large enterprise client is investing heavily in its core infrastructure and data centre capabilities, and is building a major data centre project using modern networking technologies and enterprise-grade platforms. This is a specialist role for an engineer with deep data centre expertise, who will contribute immediately to the project with some operational support as required. Occasional after-hours work is needed to support project delivery and infrastructure changes. The position is advertised by Experis Australia as a 12-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise across Cisco-based data centre environments and associated infrastructure platforms
• Assist with migration, deployment and optimisation activities within data centre environments
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on complex infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with project teams, infrastructure specialists and operational support teams
• Contribute to documentation, technical standards and operational procedures
• Ensure infrastructure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure and aligned to best practice

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Data Centre Engineer in large enterprise environments
• Proven hands-on experience designing, implementing and supporting large-scale data centre environments
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects in large and complex environments

Required skills

• Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus (NX-OS), VXLAN / EVPN, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco MDS SAN
• Citrix NetScaler
• Strong data centre networking design, implementation and troubleshooting capability
• Desirable: NVIDIA / Cumulus Linux switching, EVPN in Cumulus, BIND DNS, SmartOptics MUX solutions, AWS networking
