Senior Architect

About the role

The client, a well‑established property and construction firm in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Architect to lead residential and townhouse projects. You will be responsible for guiding design from concept through delivery while ensuring compliance, budget, and schedule targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of high‑density residential and townhouse developments.
• Prepare and coordinate documentation packages for DA, CC and CDC approvals, ensuring compliance with NSW planning codes, BCA/NCC and local council requirements.
• Manage relationships with external consultants, authorities and internal teams to keep projects progressing smoothly.
• Work closely with construction teams during the build phase to resolve RFIs and maintain design intent.
• Mentor junior and intermediate design staff, providing technical oversight.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture; NSW registration highly desirable.
• 5+ years of Sydney‑based experience delivering townhouse or multi‑residential projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of NSW planning frameworks (Housing SEPP, Low‑ and Mid‑Rise Housing guidelines, local LEPs/DCPs) and the DBP Act.
• Strong project management, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English is preferred.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with Enscape.
