School Supervisor – Lead Queensland State Schools

About the role

The Department of Education is seeking experienced educational leaders to serve as School Supervisors across Queensland state schools. In this senior position you will guide principals, drive school improvement and help deliver the department’s vision of excellence for every student.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and accountability to school principals across a portfolio of state schools.
• Monitor and evaluate educational performance, ensuring alignment with state priorities and the Brighter Futures strategy.
• Support the development of school leaders through coaching, performance management and collaborative problem‑solving.
• Oversee a range of schools, including specialist and special education centres, as directed by the Regional Director.
• Facilitate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an educational leader with a record of improving student outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and strategic thinking abilities to build lasting partnerships.
• Commitment to high performance and system‑wide innovation.
• Demonstrated capability in performance management and developing school leaders.
• Excellent judgement for navigating complex issues and making sound decisions.
• Current full or provisional teacher registration in Queensland, with eligibility for full registration.
