Review Officer – Continuous Applicant Pool

About the role

The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is seeking motivated Review Officers to join its Continuous Applicant Pool. Successful candidates will support the administration of external review applications under Queensland's Right to Information Act 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009, contributing to government transparency and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day processing of external reviews in compliance with RTI and IP legislation.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather information, provide advice and facilitate resolution of review matters.
• Identify and analyse factual and legal issues, conduct statutory interpretation and research.
• Brief delegated decision‑makers on review directions and prepare clear, plain‑English draft decisions and correspondence.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support organisational goals and contribute to knowledge‑management resources.

Required profile

• Experience interpreting and applying the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009.
• Detail‑oriented, motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake temporary full‑time or part‑time assignments up to 12 months.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
