QA/QC Officer (Mechanical) – Expressions of Interest

About the role
EnerMech is seeking experienced QA/QC Officers with a mechanical background to join a talent pool for upcoming shutdown, turnaround and maintenance projects in the Gladstone region. The role reports to the Project Quality Manager and Site Leadership Team, ensuring mechanical works meet specifications, standards and quality systems.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities.
- Review work packs, ITPs, quality documentation and inspection records.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, procedures and Australian Standards.
- Perform mechanical inspections on fixed plant equipment, piping, structural components and rotating equipment.
- Coordinate and witness testing activities where required.
- Manage quality records, punch lists, NCRs and close‑out documentation.
- Liaise with site supervisors, trades personnel, clients and contractors.
- Support project teams to achieve quality objectives while maintaining production schedules.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a QA/QC Officer, Quality Inspector or Quality Coordinator in mining, maintenance, shutdown, construction or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, quality assurance systems and inspection methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter, Boilermaker, Mechanical Technician or equivalent).
- Current Australian driver’s licence, Construction White Card and Australian working rights.
Required skills
- Mechanical inspection of fixed plant, piping and rotating equipment.
- QA/QC processes and documentation.
- Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) development and review.
- Experience with SAP or CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Relevant certifications such as NACE, ICorr or Welding Inspection.
