Project Engineer – Mining & Industrial Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Queensland team, supporting design coordination and project delivery for mining and industrial projects. This hands‑on position balances office‑based engineering work with on‑site execution, working closely with senior leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support design coordination across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling and progress tracking using Microsoft Project.
• Contribute to pre‑sales activities, providing technical input and evaluating proposals.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors and clients.
• Ensure projects meet Australian Standards and client expectations.
• Support site activities including installation, commissioning, inspections and troubleshooting.
• Maintain project documentation such as drawings, schedules, reports and updates.
• Monitor project performance, timelines and compliance across multiple sites.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering.
• Experience in mining, heavy industrial, wastewater or related sectors.
• Background with an engineering consultancy, EPC/EPCM contractor or asset owner is highly regarded.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with ability to modify drawings.
• Experience using Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 advantageous).
• Previous site experience in installation, commissioning or maintenance activities.
