Project Engineer

About the role

JLE Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its Manufacturing & Hire division in Newcastle. The role supports quality standards across high‑volume electrical equipment production and major project delivery, reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Download project information as required and keep drawing folders and project files up to date.
• Perform drawing comparisons from IFT to IFC and apply necessary mark‑ups.
• Maintain document transmittals, procurement tasks and project QA in line with the Delegation of Authority.
• Provide document control, follow up on project information requests and support administration with project documentation.
• Supply detailed, quality information on project works and assist in compiling handover manuals and dossiers.
• Support estimators, project managers and senior managers with project submissions and be accountable for finalising assigned tasks.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with the ability to use initiative.
• Capable of working under pressure and meeting planned deadlines.
• Strong organisational and computer skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: well‑developed management skills (planning, organising, evaluation), understanding of relevant standards and codes, WHSE discipline knowledge and solid communication abilities.
