About the role
We are looking for a Procurement and Contract Officer to join Downer’s Health & Education team. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will support compliant and efficient procurement and contract administration that enables delivery of essential public services.
Key responsibilities
- Support RFQ and RFT processes, prepare scopes of work, procurement documentation and evaluation templates.
- Coordinate tender clarifications, supplier onboarding and compliance verification.
- Administer subcontract agreements, maintain contract registers and track expiries, extensions and renewals.
- Process purchase orders, goods receipting and resolve supplier account queries to ensure timely financial processing.
- Maintain audit‑ready procurement and contract records and assist internal and external audits in line with governance requirements and the Downer Standard.
Required profile
- Experience in procurement, contract administration or a similar role with solid understanding of procurement processes.
- Strong organisational, analytical and time‑management abilities with high attention to detail.
- Collaborative approach and ability to build positive relationships with internal teams, suppliers and clients.
- Commitment to safety, compliance and quality outcomes aligned with Downer’s Zero Harm and governance expectations.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP (desirable).
- Experience with Coupa (desirable).
