Practice Manager

About the role

A general practice is looking for an experienced healthcare leader or senior medical administration professional to lead and grow its team, drive practice optimisation and ensure smooth, efficient operations. The Practice Manager leads clinical and administrative teams, strengthens practice performance and champions continuous improvement, overseeing operations, staff development, compliance and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, develop and grow a high-performing team.
• Drive operational efficiency, workflow optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee scheduling, patient flow and reception operations.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation, Medicare and regulatory requirements.
• Manage budgets, billing and financial performance.
• Maintain policies and procedures supporting a safe, professional, patient-focused environment.

Required profile

• Experience in practice management, healthcare administration or a senior medical reception role.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of Medicare, private billing and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with Best Practice, Cubiko, Tanda or similar medical software.
