Permanent Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Melbourne

About the role

This permanent consultant position is based in a multidisciplinary women’s and children’s health service in metropolitan Victoria. You will deliver obstetric and gynaecological care to a diverse patient population while working alongside midwives, neonatal, maternal‑fetal medicine, oncology and urogynaecology specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological clinical services.
• Collaborate with a broad multidisciplinary team including advanced laparoscopic surgeons.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
• Participate in clinical education, quality improvement and service development initiatives.

Required profile

• FRANZCOG‑qualified Australian specialist with current AHPRA registration, or UK‑trained consultant with MRCOG and CCT eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway.
• Demonstrated competence at consultant level and experience supervising junior doctors.
• Ability to work effectively with medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health colleagues.
