Operations Manager

About the role

The client is a global technology and engineering business specialising in machine vision, automation and intelligent inspection solutions, with an Australian operation supporting customers across the region through project delivery, technical service and ongoing support. It is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Operations and Service departments, reporting to the Managing Director and leading the Operations Team Lead and Service Team Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategy, operating plans and objectives, and monitor and report on KPIs across Operations and Service
• Mentor team leads, conduct performance and remuneration reviews and represent the team in leadership discussions
• Drive operational efficiency, ensure service delivery meets customer expectations and meet deadlines and contractual KPIs
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Projects and Commercial teams, and support the Finance Team with budgets and forecasting
• Manage facility operations, supplier relationships and parts of projects, and manage staffing and labour
• Monitor service metrics, approve pricing decisions and look after WH&S policies and compliance

Required profile

• At least 3 years of proven operations management experience and 5 years in a senior service operation function
• Experience delivering projects of varying scope and complexity
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a business, project management or technical field
• Australian citizen, valid Australian driver's licence, and willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required

Required skills

• Technical background with a good understanding of engineering principles; electrical engineering qualification and an electrical engineering background are beneficial
• Proven leadership and team management across diverse operational functions
