About the role

CORTO, a fast‑growing AI‑driven legal tech company, is looking for an Office Manager to keep its Sydney office running smoothly during a 9‑month maternity leave period (July 2026 – April 2027). You will be the first point of contact for staff, visitors and new hires, creating a welcoming and efficient workplace.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily office operations: stock kitchen, empty dishwasher, order supplies and coordinate catering.
  • Maintain relationships with building management and vendors, logging issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead the office relocation at the end of 2026, handling logistics, packing, vendor coordination and minimizing disruption.
  • Plan and execute culture events such as the Christmas party, Super Bowl lunch, pool competition and social‑committee calendar.
  • Welcome new hires, candidates and visitors, setting a warm and organised tone on day one.
  • Support HR onboarding and induction logistics in partnership with the People Ops Specialist.
  • Provide backup administration in BambooHR, handling employee lifecycle updates and basic reporting.
  • Assist IT manager with first‑line support: simple troubleshooting, new‑starter setup, access cards and equipment.
  • Perform light finance admin tasks, including processing invoices, purchase orders and managing event‑budget spend.

Required profile

  • Available for a 9‑month maternity‑leave contract from July 2026 to April 2027.
  • Previous experience as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant, Receptionist, Workplace Experience lead or similar operations role.
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to juggle multiple concurrent projects.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with BambooHR (HRIS) for employee administration.
