Meter Reader – Contract (Miranda, Sydney)

About the role

Join Downer’s Energy & Utilities team as a Meter Reader in Miranda. You’ll spend your day walking to homes and businesses, collecting gas, water and electricity meter readings using a mobile device while meeting daily targets.

Key responsibilities

• Visit residential and commercial properties to record utility meter readings.
• Enter readings accurately into a handheld device or mobile app.
• Maintain daily reading targets and report any issues or anomalies.
• Follow safety procedures and adhere to scheduled routes.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong time‑management, reliability and customer‑service orientation.
• Motivation to work safely and follow schedules.

Required skills

• Basic use of mobile devices or tablets for data entry.
