About the role
The Metallurgy Technician will perform client‑focused metallurgical testwork at SGS's Metallurgy Pty Ltd facility in Welshpool. This hands‑on role involves managing samples, preparing laboratory tests and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, prepare and manage samples, including inventory preparation.
- Conduct sample drying, weighing, rotary and riffle splitting, crushing, grinding and routine comminution testing.
- Maintain accurate records and follow QA/QC procedures.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to a high‑quality standard.
Required profile
- 1–2 years experience in minerals processing, production or laboratory testing.
- Knowledge of various commodities and unit operations.
- Forklift certification and first‑aid training.
Required skills
- Sample drying and weighing.
- Rotary and riffle splitting.
- Crushing and grinding operations.
- Comminution testing and grind establishment.
