Mechanical Fitter – Shutdown & Maintenance Projects

About the role

EnerMech is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join upcoming shutdown and maintenance projects in the Gladstone region. You will support site teams with both planned and reactive mechanical work, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency across a range of heavy‑industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul activities on pumps, valves, conveyors, fixed and rotating plant, pipework and associated systems.
• Support shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project scopes across industrial sites, following permits, risk assessments and job plans.
• Inspect, service, align, assemble and replace mechanical components, reading and interpreting drawings, work packs and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with supervisors, leading hands, trades and project teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and housekeeping.

Required profile

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitter and Turner or equivalent.
• Proven experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance or project work within LNG, oil & gas, mining, power generation, alumina, refinery or similar heavy‑industrial settings.
• Current driver’s licence and relevant site inductions (White Card, working at heights, confined space, EWP, gas testing, first aid).
• Recent police clearance and full Australian working rights.
