Mechanical Engineer

About the role

EnerMech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering oversight, QA governance and technical support for its Gladstone workshop and field mechanical services. The role ensures safe, compliant and commercially sound delivery of valve, flange, joint integrity and pressure testing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across workshop and field activities, reviewing and approving procedures, ITPs, test packs and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API and relevant Australian Standards, and maintain NATA audit readiness.
• Oversee valve inspection, refurbishment and testing, including review of test and repair procedures.
• Support flange management, torque calculations, gasket selection and bolting programs.
• Develop and review hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures, ensuring safe execution and calibration control.
• Coordinate NDT activities, pressure vessel and piping integrity reviews, and technical investigations.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Heavy‑industry experience in oil & gas, LNG, power or mining.
• Strong knowledge of pressure systems, piping codes and valve technology.
• Experience with joint integrity, flange management and pressure testing.
• RPEQ registration or ability to obtain it promptly.
