About the role
The Bundaberg Maturation Manager leads safe, compliant and efficient maturation, blending and bulk liquid preparation processes for Bundaberg Rum, ensuring the right aged rum profile meets production and customer demand while protecting quality and heritage.
Key responsibilities
- Lead safe and compliant operation of maturation, blending and liquid handling, aligning with HSE, quality, food safety, excise and regulatory requirements.
- Manage execution of maturation plans to deliver required aged rum volumes and profiles for bottling, packaging, bulk dispatch and future demand.
- Monitor maturation performance, liquid movements, sampling and inventory integrity to protect quality and sensory profile.
- Coordinate blending preparation, ingredient additions, quality checks and bulk dispatch to ensure production‑ready products.
- Partner with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Logistics and Site Operations to optimise tank capacity, inventory availability and asset reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, loss reduction, inventory accuracy, traceability, asset utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the maturation team, fostering a strong safety culture and operational rigor.
Required profile
- Experience in maturation, blending, beverage alcohol or other process manufacturing environments.
- Proven people‑leadership experience delivering safe, high‑quality operational outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret production, inventory and quality data.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication across cross‑functional teams.
- Proactive, people‑focused leadership style with passion for developing teams.
Required skills
- SAP, MES, SCADA or LIMS manufacturing systems.
- Lean, TPM or Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
- Inventory management and tank/barrel operation expertise.
- Blending process knowledge.
