About the role
The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for safe and effective preventative and reactive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring plant reliability and meeting performance targets. You will work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams across day and afternoon shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and availability.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Complete planned maintenance tasks and record activities in the CMMS.
- Support equipment installations, modifications and improvement projects.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Required profile
- Trade qualification as a Maintenance or Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent).
- At least three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to WHS, quality, environmental and safety standards.
Required skills
- Mechanical and electrical fault‑finding.
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
- Use of CMMS for maintenance planning.
- Reading technical drawings, schematics and maintenance documentation.
- Exposure to PLC‑controlled equipment, welding or fabrication (advantageous).
