Local Area Coordinator

About the role

APM Group is recruiting a Local Area Coordinator for its Partners in Community NDIS program in the Fannie Bay region. The role helps people with disability, their families and carers build and pursue their goal of living their best life, exercising choice and control and engaging with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist people with permanent and significant disability to apply for NDIS supports
• Collaborate with participants to develop goals
• Connect people with disabilities to support within the local community
• Help participants navigate and optimise their engagement with the NDIS
• Improve community knowledge of the NDIS and create new ways to connect participants to services
• Meet identified contractual KPIs

Required profile

• Approachable, positive, passionate and respectful, able to build relationships easily and confidently
• Strong values based on empathy and compassion, understanding the diverse needs of the local community
• Demonstrated relevant experience and/or lived experience
• Experience in planning with people to achieve collaborative outcomes
• Knowledge of the local community and options for social and economic participation for people with disability
• Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People check currently held or able to be obtained

Required skills

• Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365
