Lifestyle Support Worker - FIFO Palm Island

About the role

A casual FIFO lifestyle support worker position based on Palm Island, flying out from Townsville. The role involves providing one-on-one support in the homes and communities of recipients so they can live as independently as possible, with a commitment to being onsite three nights and four days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Support recipients in their homes with activities such as cleaning and organising, preparing healthy meals and maintaining a yard.
• Help recipients make positive choices and build confidence to access the community and engage in activities that help them reach their goals.
• Provide transport to and from activities such as shopping, the gym, social events and appointments.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel and a positive attitude.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment and the ability to solve problems.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures and to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.
• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain them).
• Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) or the ability to obtain it.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or the ability to obtain it.
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You".
