Level 3 Azure Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement and maintain scalable, secure and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. You will join an Infrastructure Services team delivering production‑grade solutions while collaborating with DevOps, software engineering and security stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and continuously improve Azure environments, ensuring high availability, scalability and security.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (and optionally Bicep or ARM templates) to automate provisioning.
• Administer and optimise Azure Kubernetes Service clusters and containerised workloads.
• Partner with development teams to build and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and Grafana.
• Drive cost‑efficiency using Azure Cost Management, Azure Advisor and cloud‑optimisation practices.
• Apply Azure security best practices across identity, access control, secrets management, networking and infrastructure.
• Support compliance through Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and related controls.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or DevOps with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications such as AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400, CKA or similar are highly regarded.
• Proactive, self‑motivated problem‑solver with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, continuously evolving technical environments.

• Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure Virtual Network, Microsoft Entra ID.
• Infrastructure as Code – Terraform (plus Bicep or ARM templates).
• Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards) and CI/CD tools (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Monitoring tools – Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Grafana.
• Azure networking – Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway.
• Azure security – Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Azure RBAC.
• Database services – Azure SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB.
• Scripting – PowerShell, Python, Bash.
