Lending Team Leader

About the role

Jacaranda Finance is seeking a Lending Team Leader to head a high‑performing squad of credit assessors. You will stay close to the day‑to‑day work, guiding decisions that shape customer outcomes and drive the business forward.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate a team of Credit Assessors to consistently meet performance and service KPIs.
• Support onboarding, training and ongoing capability development for new and existing team members.
• Identify performance gaps, provide practical feedback and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Review loan applications when needed, resolve escalations and handle complex cases.
• Monitor workflows, service levels and operational efficiency; produce regular reporting and performance tracking.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Credit, Growth and Technology teams to improve systems, processes and customer journeys.
• Participate in leadership stand‑ups, workshops and strategic sessions, using data and insights to influence scaling decisions.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in assessment or lending, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending and responsible lending principles.
• Demonstrated commercial judgement combined with people‑leadership capability.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and elevate high‑performing teams.
