Legal Counsel – Consumer Products & Processing (APAC)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Consumer Products & Processing division, focusing on Prepaid Management Services across the Asia‑Pacific region. Based in Sydney with flexible remote work, you will act as a trusted business partner and key member of the regional legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support for commercial initiatives, product development and innovation within the prepaid card portfolio.
• Deliver regulatory guidance and compliance support in collaboration with Mastercard’s compliance and regulatory teams.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, service agreements, and other legal documents related to prepaid card programs.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting payments and financial services in APAC markets.
• Liaise with senior counsel in the UK and regional senior managing counsel for Australasia.

Required profile

• Strong commercial and regulatory knowledge in the financial services and payments sector.
• Experience working with prepaid card products and services in the Asia‑Pacific region.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively across global legal teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
