Kitchen Steward - Casual

About the role

The Novotel Surfers Paradise is hiring a casual Kitchen Steward. You will support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen through dishwashing and some food preparation, keeping the kitchen clean and supplied with clean equipment and utensils. The role follows a 7-day rotation roster including AM and PM shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Support the kitchen's daily operation through dishwashing and some food preparation
• Keep a constant supply of equipment and clean utensils for all outlets
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, including cutlery, crockery and commercial equipment
• Recycle and remove rubbish
• Assist chefs with food preparation as required
• Follow sanitation and chemical use guidelines, and comply with HACCP hygiene, ALLSafe and WHS requirements

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar fast-paced environment is ideal; experience is not strictly required
• Valid working rights for Australia
• Good time management, ability to multitask and a positive, flexible attitude
• Professional, well-groomed appearance and willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays
