Intermediate Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax

About the role

RSM Australia is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join its growing team. You will analyse financial information and produce high‑quality reports for a diverse client portfolio, helping them manage assets, liabilities, profitability and tax obligations. This role offers the chance to develop technical expertise across accounting, tax compliance and client service while working closely with senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
• Prepare clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed.
• Check financial statements and management accounts for errors and omissions.
• Identify accounting issues and apply basic tax compliance procedures.
• Assist with tax planning for clients and prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Complete requisite regulatory forms and meet lodgement deadlines.

Required profile

• Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting major.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
