Relationship Manager – Small to Medium Enterprise Banking

About the role

Join ANZ’s Business & Private Bank in Canberra as a Relationship Manager focused on small and medium‑sized enterprises. Working alongside an Assistant Manager, you will build strong partnerships with passionate business owners across diverse industries, helping them achieve their financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, understanding their business and financial needs.
• Develop and deliver tailored banking solutions to drive acquisition, increase share of wallet, and generate referrals.
• Structure and negotiate credit facilities and other banking products in collaboration with product and specialist teams.
• Proactively monitor and manage credit and operational risks, applying Relationship Credit Approval discretion where appropriate.
• Maintain strong internal and external networks to support deal design and execution.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build long‑term customer relationships and maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Solid understanding of commercial mid‑market banking products and regulatory requirements.
• Experience assessing creditworthiness, monitoring risk, and structuring suitable credit solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on creating long‑term value.
