Tax Adviser – Canberra

About the role

The Tax Adviser will support the Manager, Group Tax in delivering CSC’s tax compliance and reporting obligations. Working across CSC teams, you will prepare tax returns, assist with reporting, and develop practical tax experience within a complex superannuation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns, BAS and FBT returns for CSC entities
• Assist with tax provisions and financial reporting requirements
• Support trust distribution reviews and investment structures
• Respond to ATO and offshore tax authority queries
• Conduct tax research and summarise findings for the team
• Manage lodgement processes and ensure deadlines are met
• Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Investments, People) on tax matters
• Assist in managing external advisers and reviewing deliverables

Required profile

• Degree in accounting, economics, commerce, law or a related field
• 2–3 years’ experience in tax, accounting or a related discipline
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
• Basic understanding of Australian tax principles or willingness to develop
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams
