About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a senior HR advisory role within a large, complex public‑sector organisation in Sydney. Working Wednesday to Friday, you will act as a trusted partner to business units, providing strategic people advice, managing complex employee and industrial relations matters, and driving cultural and performance outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR generalist advice to corporate clients and key business units across the organisation.
  • Manage employee and industrial relations matters end‑to‑end, including complex casework, performance issues, misconduct and grievance handling.
  • Partner with specialist teams such as Recruitment, Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, WHS and Payroll.
  • Lead and contribute to change‑management initiatives using established organisational change frameworks.
  • Design and implement HR solutions that deliver measurable people and organisational outcomes.
  • Embed cultural values through targeted initiatives and coaching of managers and employees.

Required profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (degree or diploma).
  • Proven HR generalist experience within large or complex organisations, especially with corporate client groups.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex casework including performance, misconduct and grievances.
  • Consultative, relationship‑driven approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a part‑time capacity and managing competing priorities.

Required skills

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislative and industrial frameworks (Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Fair Work Act).
