Head of Planning

About the role

MECCA’s Planning team ensures the right products are in the right place at the right time, driving commercial performance and exceptional customer experiences. As Head of Planning you will lead the function through a period of transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and evolve the Planning function, embedding new ways of working and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Brand Management, Merchandise Operations, Range & Space and executive stakeholders to develop and execute commercial planning strategies.
• Coach, develop and inspire a large team of planning leaders, building capability and a high‑performing culture.
• Represent Planning at Leadership Team level, providing commercial insights and recommendations.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands‑on operational involvement to improve processes and team effectiveness.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience within Planning, Merchandising or Commercial functions, ideally in beauty retail, fashion or FMCG.
• Proven success leading large teams through organisational transformation and change.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience balancing strategic planning with operational execution in high‑volume, consumer‑focused businesses.
• People‑first leadership style with passion for developing capability and building strong partnerships.
