General Practitioner – Full‑time Primary Care Doctor

About the role

Schotters Road Medical Centre is seeking a full‑time General Practitioner to join its on‑site team in Melbourne. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary‑care services to patients of all ages, supporting the centre’s commitment to patient‑centred and data‑driven care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct primary‑care consultations, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform clinical examinations, prescribe medications and order/interpret investigations.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records.
• Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff on care planning and multidisciplinary case management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in clinical quality and patient experience.
• Engage in health promotion, preventive care and follow‑up to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Demonstrated skills in medicine and primary care, including assessment, diagnosis and management of a broad range of conditions.
• Experience in family medicine with a holistic, patient‑centred approach across the lifespan.
• Ability to work effectively with nursing and other clinical staff to deliver coordinated care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, supervision or mentorship where appropriate.
• Relevant medical degree and current (or eligible) registration with the Australian medical board.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive approach to patients and colleagues.
