Full-Time Cook - Sydney Airport Lounge

About the role

A full-time Cook is sought for the Sydney International Lounges, where the role provides high-quality service between the a la carte and buffet areas. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Cook is part of a team responsible for giving lounge passengers a high-quality product. The position suits someone studying cookery who wants kitchen experience, or an experienced cook looking for extra hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet, showing variety and flair
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
• Assist with ingredient preparation, including chopping, slicing, dicing and measuring
• Follow food safety protocols and keep all working areas clean and tidy
• Wash all dishes during service and maintain, service and clean all equipment
• Report any problems to the CDP and General Manager

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume kitchen
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping attention to detail
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Full working rights in Australia and ability to pass a federal police background security check (at own cost, reimbursed once approved)
