About the role

Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Alice Springs as a Flight Nurse and deliver high‑impact aeromedical care across remote South Australia and the Northern Territory. You will work within a high‑performance team, providing critical care, midwifery and trauma services during emergency retrievals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary response, intensive care, midwifery and trauma care during aeromedical missions.
• Conduct emergency retrievals from regional, rural and remote locations.
• Collaborate with pilots, doctors and operational staff to ensure safe patient transport.
• Maintain clinical documentation and adhere to RFDS clinical protocols.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to unpredictable schedules.

Required profile

• AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
• Minimum five years post‑registration experience, including at least three years in a critical care environment.
• Post‑graduate certificate (or higher) in Emergency Medicine or Intensive Care.
• At least one year of consolidated midwifery practice.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in remote settings and a strong sense of adventure.
