Fire Technician – Cairns

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Fire Technician to join its Cairns team. In this hands‑on position you will maintain, service, fault‑find, repair and install a wide range of fire protection systems for a diverse customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and recommend fire protection and safety solutions.
• Service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair fire protection equipment in line with Australian Standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete installations or system upgrades as required.
• Ensure all work complies with WHS legislation and company safety policies.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Current Queensland Electrical Licence and QBCC licence with relevant industry qualifications.
• Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire protection systems.
• Strong planning, scheduling and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team.

Required skills

• Fire protection system installation and maintenance.
• Electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Australian Standards for fire safety.
• Practical application of WHS legislation and procedures.
