Financial Accountant

About the role

An established Melbourne‑based organisation is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This hands‑on position offers broad exposure across financial and management accounting, month‑end, statutory compliance, AP/AR and payroll support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end processes, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
• Oversee day‑to‑day AP and AR processes and ledger reconciliations.
• Support payroll activities, including PAYG tax and superannuation.
• Assist with BAS and FBT returns and maintain accurate financial records for external audit.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of financial accounting experience.
• CPA/CA qualification or near‑qualified.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
